Access Agreements
Permits to access Mosaic’s private forest lands are issued based on the merits of the application.
Who Should Apply
Applications may be submitted by:
Organizations or clubs for low-risk, low impact recreational activities
Organizers of recreational events
Institutions or organizations requesting field research or training
Permits will only be issued to applicants that can demonstrate a track-record of responsible use, and whose activities are consistent with Mosaic’s values of ensuring public safety and protecting the environment. Please ensure your application is complete and the information included is accurate.
Please Note: To ensure the risk of wildfire can be appropriately managed, Mosaic may not issue access agreements for Mosaic’s lands for events scheduled July 15th to August 31st.
How to Apply
The submission of an application does not guarantee a permit will be issued, and does not in any manner convey rights to use or occupy the timberlands managed by Mosaic. A permit must be in effect prior to use of the timberlands.
Processing Time
Please submit applications at least three months in advance of your event. Our Committee aims to review and process simple agreements within three months; more complicated agreements may take longer.
In all cases, Mosaic and approved applicants will need to enter into a legally binding permit or license, in the form substantially set out here. In most cases, approved permits and licenses include a $650 admin fee, and commercial requests may be subject to additional fees.
Sample Permits
First Nations seeking access to Mosaic managed lands should contact FirstNationAccess@MosaicForests.com with the request for access.

"Building trails on private forest lands would not have been possible without Mosaic’s generosity. The company has supported Cowichan Lake Trail Blazers Society by entering into a land-use agreement and has also provided seed money for tools and trail-building materials."
