2024 Camping Photo Contest Winners Announced
Mosaic’s 8th annual Camping Photo Contest is a showcase of wild west coast moments that inspire, inform and awe. A celebration of Vancouver Island’s great outdoors, the submitted photos also demonstrate the creativity of the talented participants, including this year’s winners:
Dustin Harrison, People’s Choice Award winner for ‘Camping Rocks!’ photographed at Mosaic’s Macktush campsite, Port Alberni.
Mike Tumchewics, Staff Choice Award winner for ‘Adventures Together’ photographed at Schoen Lake Provincial Park, Northern Vancouver Island.
Richard Steward, Staff Choice Award winner for ‘Early Morning Walk’ photographed at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, Parksville.
The 2024 winning photos were announced during National Forest Week which celebrates Canada’s forests and raises awareness for this valuable and renewable resource. Contest winner, Richard Steward credits the forest backdrop for his winning shot. “Coming from Northern Ontario where the beauty of the boreal forest has its own special appeal, here on Vancouver Island the forests are less dense and allow the light to filter through the canopy in interesting patterns,” said Steward.
Selected from nearly 100 submissions, winners each receive seven days of free camping at any of Mosaic’s beautiful campgrounds on Vancouver Island. Mosaic operates 14 not-for-profit campsites on private managed forest lands on Vancouver Island. Generally, campsites welcome visitors from May to October and feature a variety of amenities and breathtaking views. For information on Mosaic’s campsites, visit MosaicForests.com/Camping.
