Mosaic Launches 4th Annual Campsite Photo Contest
Nanaimo, BC — Mosaic Forest Management announced today its annual photo contest will launch on July 1, 2020. Photographers of all levels are invited to submit their favourite images of BC’s wild West Coast for a chance to win one of three 14-day camping passes valid at any Mosaic campsite. Two of the winners will be chosen by a panel of Mosaic staff, and the third winner will be selected this year through a new category of the People’s Choice Award!
Mosaic forest lands and campgrounds inspire visitors to capture breathtaking photos every day. Mosaic’s newest opportunity for even more spectacular photos is at its Macktush campground, located south of Port Alberni, BC, where everyone can enjoy coastal forest walking trails and access to world class sockeye fishing on the Alberni Inlet. This brings the number of Mosaic not-for-profit campsites to twelve.
“The photo contest is an exciting chance for photographers to share their unique perspectives on the forests, people, places and wildlife that make Mosaic forest lands, and indeed all of the West Coast, so special,” said Domenico Iannidinardo, Mosaic Forest Management’s Vice President of Forest & Logistics and Chief Forester. “We look forward to seeing coastal BC’s wild places through the lenses of our visitors.”
Thousands explore BC’s wilderness destinations each year, with more than 10,000 people enjoying Mosaic campgrounds on Vancouver Island in 2019. Last year’s photo contest received hundreds of entries. The images captured the essence of camping on the West Coast, with the winning shots including a sunset paddle on the Nanaimo River Estuary, and a glassy reflection of the sky at First Lake.
