Mosaic Forest Management Extends Partnership with TREK Vancouver Island Gravel Series as Official Race Host

Mosaic Forest Management (Mosaic) was proud to be the official race host of the 2024 TREK Vancouver Island Gravel Series. This marks the continuation of a collaboration between Mosaic and the Wheelhouse Cycling Society, the race organizers, and aligns with Mosaic’s commitment to give back to communities and build partnerships across BC’s Coast.

Gravel cycling is a discipline that lets riders hone their passion for exploration and adventure on unpaved roads and trails, often using specially designed gravel bikes. The TREK Vancouver Island Gravel Series kicked off in April in Campbell River, followed by a stage race in Duncan in May. The final leg took place in Nanaimo on June 16, with all three events giving racers a prime opportunity to test their skills on Mosaic’s gravel roads.

“We’re pleased about our partnership with the TREK Vancouver Island Gravel Series,” said Pam Jorgenson, Manager of Community Initiatives and Certifications at Mosaic Forest Management. “We are committed to our local communities and thrilled to collaborate with Wheelhouse Cycling Society and other community organizations to showcase the beauty of Vancouver Island.”

Mosaic’s sustainably managed forests span Vancouver Island, providing jobs and economic opportunities for communities. Formal access agreements, like the one Mosaic has with the Wheelhouse Cycling Society, allow sanctioned access to responsible users who are instrumental in helping limit the risks of wildfires, illegal dumping, vandalism, and theft on Mosaic’s forest lands.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Mosaic Forest Management to offer this iconic race series, featuring steep climbs and breathtaking views, in such scenic parts of Vancouver Island,” said Jon Watkin, Co-founder of the Wheelhouse Cycling Society.
