Mosaic Season of Giving Spreads Holiday Cheer To Local Communities

Nanaimo, BC — Mosaic Forest Management is donating $30,000 to community and food programs in Campbell River, Port Alberni, Duncan, Lake Cowichan and Sooke.

“The holidays can be a particularly difficult time of year for those in need, this year made worse by the pandemic.  We are stepping up to provide additional support to communities in and around our operating areas on Vancouver Island,” said Mosaic President and CEO Jeff Zweig. “We join a number of committed organisations and local services working hard to help impacted families. We are proud to support their efforts.”

The donations will be shared with food banks and housing support services in communities throughout Vancouver Island to help meet the need at the local level. School lunch programs, Christmas Hampers, and Meals on Wheels are among the recipient organizations. The programs provide critical support to the more than 13 percent of households experiencing food insecurity within Island Health.

"When students are hungry, they're not learning," said Jamie Doyle, Principal of Lake Cowichan School. "The support we are receiving from Mosaic will help working families, and ensure kids have healthy snacks for a more productive learning environment.”

Every year, Mosaic’s Sponsorships and Donations program supports numerous events and projects in Coastal BC communities. Mosaic is honoured to work closely with its neighbours on initiatives that have far reaching benefits to the community.
