Mosaic Curtailment Update

Mosaic Forest Management’s forest operations remain curtailed due to continued poor market conditions.

The Company announced today that a small hauling and transportation program has been initiated to recover the remaining timber decked in the forest that was harvested prior to the curtailment. To avoid degradation of this timber from insects and fire risk, logs will be transported to its coastal storage facilities.

“Poor market conditions have persisted longer than anticipated and have been exacerbated by the impact of the corona virus on global supply chains,” said Mosaic President and CEO Jeff Zweig. “We regret the impact this situation is having on our contractors, BC coastal communities and customers. Our priority remains getting everyone back to work as soon as market conditions allow.”

Mosaic first announced it was curtailing harvesting operations as a result of market conditions on November 25, 2019.
